DAY 3 at Murray’s Road School in Douglas saw the Computerbus turned (briefly) into a recording studio - as Year 4 sang part of the “Murray’s Road School Song” into GarageBand.
On hand was the school’s Music Coordinator Mrs Mitchell who was really keen to see what else GarageBand can do in addition to using the musical loops which come with the program.
Using the “Radio Skeet” Samson CO1U microphone, and a USB keyboard, Year 4 sang a verse and chorus of the school song, with the computerbus man on hand to key in the ‘band’.
OK - the result could do with a bit more work - and musical talent - but not to bad in the time - ten minutes or so from scratch! (Year 4 spent the rest of the time creating a soundtrack for a car advert.)
In the afternoon, year 4 returned to the bus with their teachers to create posters for the ancient Egypt studiesusing Apple’s ‘Pages’ program.
Using some pictures found on the web, they combined text and pictures to make a poster - with display lettering ‘copied and pasted’ from Comic Life.
Tomorrow sees year 5 return to do more 3-D modelling with a view creating World War II air-raid shelters...
