Welcome | 2008 Relaunch | 30th | 1998 | History | Conversion | UK Visits | Awards
SATURDAY once again saw the bus off to the smart, new Isle of Man Transport bus yard at Banks Circus. The depot was rebuilt in the late 1990s and features amongst other things the effective ‘Britannia’ bus wash. Its like a regular car was but -BIGGER!
Its filled with only the best Auto-Glym Fleetwash and guarantees a streak-free finish - and protect paint work treated to regular washing such as the Isle of Man’s bus fleet including the computer bus.
Whilst there, an opportunity is taken to refuel - using the computerised ‘Dataplate’ attached to all the Island’s buses including this one. It allows fuel to be monitored and recorded.
An on-going ‘thank you’ to the staff of the Transport Yard who welcome the bus on its regular visits over the last ten years...

Bank’s Circus
Keeping the Computer bus in ip top condition - and refuelled - involves regular trips to the Isle of Man Transport Yard at Bank’s Circus (the Steam Railway Station t the rest of us)...

Computerbus.com wishes former Laxey and St.Ninian’s High School student Samantha Barks every success in BBC TVs ‘I’d Do Anything’. Now in the final FIVE for the quarter finals TONIGHT!
The Computerbus man regularly washes the bus by hand - but on refuelling trips takes advantage of the automatic bus washer (yes - the Department of Education pays for the service!)
And this Saturday the bus also gulped some 71 litres of diesel oil. This should be enough to keep the thirsty Leyland 510 engine happy for the next three weeks or so.
