Circus animations with Year 6 and Datalogging with Year 5 at Braddan today.

Software used included SPLOSH!, iCanAnimate, Pages and Datasweet - all completed amid glorious Isle of Man sunshine...

These were later added to another KUDLIAN program iCanAnimate, were the draw tools were used to draw the moving characters in the story.

To get the face of the clown, a photograph was used as a temporary background and traced with the drawing tools in iCanAnimate,  the clown photo replaced by an original graphic created in SPLOSH to show the dressing room.

On Friday, Year 6 will return to export their movies as digital video files, and then add narration and sound in GarageBand...

Meanwhile, Year 5 used yet another KUDLIAN title “Datasweet” to carry out datalogging experiments around the school, including monitoring changing temperature from the bottom of the school field to the top of the hill, behind the school, different sound levels in the yard before during and after playtime, and using a computer’s iSight camera to record video - the changing noise levels of traffic passing by the school.

The camera record was able to identify some rather large HGVs passing the school, and the lound noise level resulting as it passed.

The graphs were then pasted into Apple’s Pages and labelled up...

Tomorrow Thursday? More datalogging then its Reception’s turn!

Tracing the face of a clown later to be animated in iCanAnimate...

Just visible against the SPLOSH! audience is a tightrope walker making his anikmated way across the rope - before falling off,,,

One of the Logit dataloggers and a results sheet indicating the results ‘fetched’ and plotted as a graph. The latter was copied and pasted into Apple’s Pages program for a write up of the results...
