ALTHOUGH it spends most of its time with primary school children, there is still a role for the Computer Bus with the Is- land’s secondary schools.
At the end of last term, two splendid sessions took place at Castle Rushen High School, with around a dozen students from the Year 12 ‘A’ level Art group.
The days had been set up two months earlier, with an introductory session and the loan of a state-of-the-art multi-media computer for the students to familiarise themselves with the software and develop their ideas. Whilst the bus was at Castle Rushen, the Students spent two days completing their work, and producing superb colour printouts.
The days were such a success, the bus has been invited back to Castle Rushen for their annual Open day in September.
Further sessions are booked for October with Ballakermeen Science department, and of course the Codename SCOOP! sessions all featured secondary age students from both Ballakermeen and St.Ninian’s High Schools.
